★The definition of integrated circuit in the Regulations for the Protection of Layout Design of Integrated Circuits is limited to the layout design of chips (IC chips). Circuit board (PCB) design does not fall within the scope of protection under the Regulations.
★Where the layout-design has not been put into commercial use before the date of application, the layout-design registration application may contain confidential information, the proportion of which shall not exceed 50% of the total area of the layout-design of the integrated circuit. Except for infringement proceedings or administrative procedures, no one shall access or copy the confidential information.
