Q: Is there a single requirement for a design patent application?
A: The single requirement of patent application is a basic requirement of patent application, therefore, whether it is invention patent, utility model patent, or design patent has a single requirement, for details, see the relevant provisions in Article 31 of Patent law of China:
An application for a patent for invention or utility model shall be limited to one invention or utility model. Two or more inventions or utility models belonging to one general invention idea may be submitted as one application.
An application for a design patent shall be limited to one design. Two or more similar designs of the same product, or two or more designs of products used in the same category and sold or used in sets, may be submitted as one application.
