Article 11 of China's Patent Law stipulates: "After the patent right for inventions and utility models has been granted, except as otherwise provided for in this Law, no unit or individual shall, without the authorization of the patentee, carry out his patent, i.e., he shall not manufacture, use, license, sell, sell, or import for the purpose of production and management his patented products, or use his patented method as well as the use, license, and sale of the products directly obtained in accordance with that patented method, sales, importation of products directly obtained in accordance with the patented method. After a design patent right is granted, no unit or individual may implement the patent without the permission of the patentee, i.e., may not manufacture, promise to sell, sell or import its patented design products for the purpose of production and business."
