This year marks the 25th anniversary of the establishment of the Copyright Center. In order to meet this important historical moment, the Copyright Center has launched an image logo collection activity, which has attracted wide attention and participation from all walks of life. With the joint efforts of the Copyright Center and the participating parties, after several rounds of creation and improvement, the new image logo of the Copyright Center was designed and completed. On August 1, 2023, the new image logo of the China Copyright Protection Center was released:

The main color of the image logo is "earth blue" and "China red", the Chinese font is selected by Fangzheng Qigong in block letters, the design inspiration comes from the Song Dynasty, which records the copyright protection content of the ancient book "Dongdu Story" and the world map, reflecting the organic combination of the historical and international copyright culture. At the same time, the Chinese "Zhong" character, the English abbreviation of "CCPC", the copyright mark © and other elements are integrated into the design and creation, reflecting the main positioning and function of the copyright Center as a national copyright protection and service organization.

The design idea of the image logo comes from the book "Dongdu Story" written by Wang Zhenghua in the Southern Song Dynasty. There is a sign in the book: "Meishan Chengshe people published in the house, and the boss has not allowed to cover the board", which is the earliest copyright statement found in the world so far. The new image logo selects the traditional "East" character of "East Capital Story" as the main design element, which reflects that the copyright Center understands copyright from the long history and culture of China, constantly excavates the historical and cultural heritage of Chinese copyright, strengthens cultural self-confidence, enhances historical consciousness, and promotes the innovation and development of copyright business in the inheritance of excellent traditional Chinese culture.

The main color of the graphic part of the image logo is "Earth blue", the outline is the oval of the world map, and the lines are abstractly extended by the longitude and latitude lines, which means that the copyright Center serves the copyright cooperation between China and foreign countries, and promotes the cultural exchange and mutual learning between Chinese and foreign civilizations.

The central axis and ring line of the image logo form the Chinese character "Zhong". The Central Line is abstracted from the abbreviation "CCPC" and "©" of the English name "China Copyright Protection Center". The text part uses the color of "Chinese red". It reflects the main position and function of the copyright Center as a national copyright protection and service organization.

Introduction to China Copyright Protection Center

Historical development

●　In 1998, according to the approval of the Editorial Office of the People's Republic of China, the former Press and Publication Administration (National Copyright Administration) established the China Copyright Protection Center, under the management of the China Copyright Agency Corporation (that is, the China Copyright Agency Center), the China Software Registration Center, and the China Copyright Use Compensation Transfer Center. At the same time, the copyright of computer software and other kinds of works were registered according to the spirit of the relevant documents. Contract registration of foreign-related audio and video products, copyright authentication of foreign-related audio and video works, identification of infringing works, copyright legal consulting services and other work are transferred to the center.

●　In 2009, with the approval of the former General Administration of Press and Publication and the Ministry of Finance, China Copyright Agency Corporation and China Copyright Agency Center were set up separately, and the corporation operated as an independent enterprise legal person managed by the center.

●　In 2013, in the process of institutional reform and functional transformation of The State Council, the responsibilities of the State Administration of Press and Publication and the State Administration of Radio, Film and Television were integrated to form the State Administration of Press, Publication, Radio, Film and Television, and the China Copyright Protection Center was transferred to the State Administration of Press, Publication, Radio, Film and Television.

●　In 2015, according to the approval of the Editorial Office, China Copyright Protection Center and China Copyright Agency Center were merged into China Copyright Protection Center (China Copyright Agency Center).

●　In 2018, according to the approval of the Central Compilation Office, the China Copyright Protection Center (China Copyright Agency Center) was transferred to the Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee.

Key responsibilities

1. As a registration institution recognized by the competent copyright department of the State, it undertakes the copyright registration of works and computer software, the registration of copyright-related rights, and the registration of exclusive rights.

2. To undertake the registration of copyright pledge, the registration and certification of copyright contracts for publishing overseas audiovisual products, the registration of copyright contracts for reprinting foreign periodicals, and the certification of copyright licensing contracts for publishing or copying overseas electronic publications and computer software as entrusted by the competent copyright department of the State;

3. Carry out copyright identification services and network copyright monitoring, evidence collection, rights protection and other copyright-related legal affairs services;

4. Carry out research, consultation, publicity and training on policies and regulations in the field of copyright, provide research and consulting services such as copyright value evaluation, asset management, investment and financing, and carry out related work on copyright industry promotion;

5. Conducting research and consultation on science and technology policies and standards in the field of copyright, copyright data resource management and development and utilization, copyright registration information statistics, and international copyright business exchanges and cooperation;

6. Manage China Copyright Agency Co., LTD and China Copyright Magazine Co., LTD. Host "China Copyright" and "Creative China" magazine.
