On May 18, the China Satellite Navigation and Positioning Association released the 2023 White Paper on the development of China's satellite navigation and location Services industry in Beijing. According to the white paper, as of December 31, 2022, the cumulative total number of satellite navigation patent applications in China has exceeded 109,000, continuing to maintain the global lead, and the total output value of China's satellite navigation and location services industry will reach 5000.7 billion yuan in 2022.
According to the white paper, the invention patents accepted in this field in 2022 are mainly concentrated in hot areas such as Beidou positioning system, multi-sensor fusion, navigation and positioning, and satellite signals. On the whole, although China started late in the field of satellite navigation, it has developed rapidly in the later stage. With the further advancement of the planning and construction of the next generation Beidou system and the national comprehensive positioning and navigation timing system, it is expected that related technology patent applications will continue to maintain a rapid growth trend. Since the BDS service was provided, it has been widely used in the fields of transportation, meteorological forecasting, communication timing and other fields, integrated into the national core infrastructure, and produced remarkable economic and social benefits.
Li Donghang, deputy secretary-general of the China Satellite Navigation and Positioning Association and executive director of the Beidou Space-time Technology Research Institute, said that in 2022, the five regions of the Beidou industry will achieve a comprehensive output value of about 377.8 billion yuan. Among them, the comprehensive output value of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region reached 104.8 billion yuan, the Pearl River Delta reached 102.8 billion yuan, the Yangtze River Delta reached 76.9 billion yuan, the central China reached 49.7 billion yuan, and the western region reached 43.6 billion yuan. According to incomplete statistics, as of the fourth quarter of 2022, the five regions have promoted and applied more than 13 million Beidou terminals/sets.
