On May 10, the 2023 Guangdong Brand Development Conference co-sponsored by the Brand Power Project Organizing Committee, Guangdong Enterprise Brand Building Promotion Association, Guangdong Radio and Television Station, and the National Trademark Brand Innovation and Entrepreneurship (Guangzhou) Base was held in Guangzhou. Huafa Group's Huafa Seven-string National Operation platform and Guangdong Enterprise Brand Building Promotion Association released the "Top 500 List of Chinese Enterprise Patent Strength in 2022".

The list analyzes enterprises registered with the China Industry and Commerce Bureau, and the data range includes China's invention and utility model patents. Based on the average value of patents, the total number of valid invention and utility model patents, the number of inventions, the number of PCTS, the duration of application and other analysis indicators, the "Top 500 List of Chinese enterprises' Patent Strength in 2022" is selected. Among them, Huawei, Xiaomi, OPPO, Vivo Mobile, ZTE, Alibaba (China), Tencent, BOE, Haier, Midea and other top 10.

At the press conference, Lei Yao, deputy general manager of the patent business department of Huafa Sviqin National Operation Platform, published and interpreted the list, and conducted a comparative analysis of the patent strength of Chinese enterprises from the dimensions of region, industry and star rating.

According to the list data, the shortlisted enterprises are mainly distributed in Guangdong, Beijing, Jiangsu, Shanghai and Zhejiang provinces, accounting for 66%, of which more than 63% of the enterprises are located in the coastal areas with the leading advantage of intellectual property development. A total of 107 enterprises in Guangdong Province are shortlisted, which has a relatively large leading advantage.

Industry distribution data show that manufacturing and service industry occupy the TOP10 patent strength list, of which manufacturing ranked first, a total of 292 enterprises shortlisted, accounting for 58.4% of the number of top 500 enterprises, while manufacturing, computer, communications and other electronic equipment manufacturing industry, the largest number of shortlisted enterprises, accounting for 19% of the number of top 500 enterprises. Is 2.9 times that of the next largest equipment manufacturing industry.

According to the overall patent score of enterprises, the list divides enterprises into 1-5 stars, of which 92 are rated as 5-star enterprises, accounting for 18.4% of the number of top 500 enterprises, and 408 are rated as 4-star enterprises, accounting for 81.6%. It can be seen that the top 500 enterprises pay more attention to the layout and rights protection of intellectual property rights, and are good at using intellectual property rights to protect the interests of the company, but most enterprises have not established a sound intellectual property management system, and use intellectual property rights as a magic weapon to turn "intellectual property" into "assets".

Since 2019, the Top 500 list of Chinese Enterprise Patents produced by Huafa Seven String National Operation Platform has been published for four consecutive years, aiming to guide Chinese enterprises to enhance their intellectual property awareness and ability, promote Chinese enterprises to strengthen the cultivation and layout of high-value patents, set a benchmark and example for Chinese enterprises' patent work, and promote the construction of an intellectual property power.
