The 2022 Patent Agent Qualification Examination was successfully concluded. With the holding of the second batch of patent agent qualification examination in 2022 in 19 cities that applied for extension, the 2022 patent agent qualification examination in 32 mainland examination centers and Hong Kong SAR examination centers across the country was successfully completed. A total of nearly 4,000 personnel were involved in the two exams, 75 test stations were set up, 850 test rooms were set up, and 58,428 electronic test booths were provided.

Adhering to the principle of "candidates' interests first", the State Intellectual Property Office, in collaboration with the national Intellectual Property offices, has overcome the impact of the novel coronavirus outbreak and organized two batches of tests to provide reference opportunities for each candidate. The two exams strictly implemented power and network security, strengthened information and data security management, strengthened emergency plan revision and pre-exam emergency drills, and ensured the overall safe and stable implementation of the exam.
According to statistics, the number of candidates who passed the registration review and completed the payment in 2022 is 51,511, an increase of 8.96% year-on-year, and another record high. Among the 33 test centers, Guangzhou, Beijing and Hefei had the largest number of applicants, with 7,591, 5,502 and 3,336, respectively. The Office of the Patent Agent Examination Board will step up the organization of subsequent examination marking work.
Since its establishment in 1992, the patent agent qualification examination system has been successfully held 24 times, which has selected and reserved a large number of outstanding intellectual property service talents for the country. By the end of February, a total of 63,311 people nationwide had obtained the patent agent qualification certificate, including 31,558 practicing patent agents, and the number of patent agencies reached 4,597.
