In 2021, the scale of Shanghai's biopharmaceutical industry will exceed 700 billion yuan, and the output value of Jiangsu's biopharmaceutical industry will exceed 400 billion yuan, with obvious economic development benefits enabled by patent operation in the biological industry.

At present, China has carried out corresponding exploration in microbial data standards, enterprise drug patents and innovative technology standards. With the issuance of the "Plan", the same call for the development and use of relevant technical standards in the field of biotechnology in China continues. Experts believe that with the support of the intellectual property system, promoting enterprises to transform independent innovation in biotechnology into technical standards, and formulating and improving the guidelines for the licensing of necessary patents for biotechnology standards will become an important part of taking the initiative to do a good job in the layout of biotechnology and enhance the competitiveness of the bioeconomy.
