Notice of China (Guangdong) Intellectual Property Protection Center on Suspending the acceptance of cases involving requests for pre-examination of nucleotide or amino acid sequence Tables

According to the 485th announcement of the State Intellectual Property Office, since July 1, 2022, if the national patent application file submitted to the State Intellectual Property Office contains a nucleotide or amino acid sequence table, the electronic file of the sequence table shall comply with the WIPO ST.26 standard. Due to the application of WIPO ST.26 standard review cases involving system transformation and upgrading, in order to do a good job in the connection between the pre-examination work and the review work, according to the notification requirements of the State Intellectual Property Office, the relevant work requirements are notified as follows:
First, the China (Guangdong) Intellectual Property Protection Center will suspend the acceptance of cases involving pre-trial requests for sequence tables from now on, and the resumption time will be notified separately.
For cases involving sequence table that have been pre-examined and have not yet submitted a national patent application to the State Intellectual Property Office, the applicant for pre-examination is requested to submit a national patent application before July 1, 2022, otherwise it will not enter the fast-track examination channel.
