Notice of the National Copyright Administration on the Selection and Commendation of the 2022 China Copyright Gold Award

In order to implement the decision-making and deployment of the Party Central Committee and The State Council on strengthening intellectual property work, promote the construction of copyright power, set up advanced models in the aspects of copyright creation, application, protection and management, and guide the public to respect creation and copyright, the National Copyright Administration and the World Intellectual Property Organization jointly held the 2022 China Copyright Gold Award selection and recognition activity. The relevant matters are hereby notified as follows.

1. Award setting

The China Copyright Gold Award, co-sponsored by the National Copyright Administration and the World Intellectual Property Organization, was established in 2008 and selected every two years. It is the highest award in China's copyright field and the only international award in China's copyright field.

China Copyright Gold Award has four categories of awards, including work award, promotion and application award, protection award and management award, with a total of 20 awards, including 6 work awards, 5 promotion and application awards, 5 protection awards and 4 management awards.

2. Selection criteria

(1) Award for works

Creative works with positive content, rich and vivid artistic images, novel and original creative methods, high copyright conversion rate, wide spread, and significant social and economic benefits.

The awards are divided into literature and art, film and television, music and drama, computer software, animation games, fine arts and photography and other categories.

Works with copyright registration under the same conditions are preferred.

(2) Promotion and Application Award

Units or individuals that have achieved remarkable results in the development and utilization of copyright resources and made outstanding contributions in the promotion and dissemination of excellent works, especially in the promotion of excellent traditional Chinese culture, the integration of copyright industry chain, the management and operation of copyright assets, and the promotion of high-quality development of copyright industry.

(3) Protection Award

Units or individuals that actively safeguard the rights and interests of rights holders, explore and use innovative ways to creatively solve prominent problems in copyright protection, have a significant impact on the whole country, and make outstanding contributions to optimizing the business environment and standardizing the copyright order.

(4) Management Award

Organizations or individuals who have made outstanding contributions to maintaining social public interests, optimizing copyright service system, promoting high-quality development of copyright industry, and enhancing the social influence of copyright by organizing copyright law enforcement and supervision, social services, and publicity with innovative ideas and scientific methods.

3. Recommended scope

Each region and relevant units shall recommend works, units or individuals that meet the selection criteria within their jurisdiction or related fields. Two candidates may be nominated for each category.

Iv. Review and commendation

The National Copyright Administration has set up the China Copyright Gold Award Selection Committee to review relevant recommendation materials in accordance with the principles of openness, fairness and justice, put forward the list of proposed winners to the public, and jointly hold the award ceremony with the World Intellectual Property Organization at a later date to award MEDALS and certificates.

5. Submission method

The recommendation unit shall fill in the "China Copyright Gold Award Nomination Recommendation Form 2022" and stamp the official seal, send the electronic version of the nomination recommendation form to the email address designated by the National Copyright Administration before September 15, and send the paper version of the nomination recommendation form, recommendation materials and work samples (in duplicate) to the National Copyright Administration.
