Iqiyi and Douyin Group have signed a partnership to license long video content for short video creation

The two sides agreed that this cooperation is an important step for long and short video platforms to jointly explore the standardization of the use of intellectual property rights for film and television content and achieve a win-win situation, which is of great significance for both long and short video creators and consumers.
On July 19, iQiyi and Tiktok Group announced a cooperation to explore the secondary creation and promotion of long video content. This marks a new model of win-win cooperation for long and short video platforms.
According to the cooperation, iQiyi will authorize to Douyin Group the long video content in its content assets that has the right of information network transmission and sub-license for the creation of short videos. The two sides have made specific agreements on the second creation forms of short videos such as interpretation, mixing and cutting, and stripping, and will jointly promote the standardized use of intellectual property rights of long video content.
