Shen Changyu, director of the State Intellectual Property Office, said that in recent years, the State Intellectual Property Office has always insisted on treating the intellectual property rights of domestic and foreign business entities equally and protecting them equally, constantly improving the top-level design, optimizing the management system, strengthening the construction of the rule of law, enhancing the effectiveness of protection, and deepening international cooperation, so as to achieve the enhancement of intellectual property rights' governance capacity and governance level, and to create a fair and competitive business environment for enterprises and innovation subjects of all countries.
"In May 2022, China's State Intellectual Property Office made a decision to maintain the validity of patent rights for two preparation patents of an important AstraZeneca product, which greatly stabilized the related product market and AstraZeneca's confidence in investing in China, and inspired the enterprise to increase its investment in China by nearly 9 billion yuan one after another." AstraZeneca participant representative said.
"Up to now, Ford has about 9,000 authorized patents and 1,500 registered trademarks in China. China's fast improving IPR protection environment further promotes our innovative development." Ford Motor participant said.
The data shows that in 2023, China's social satisfaction with IPR protection increased to 82.04 points, a record high, of which the satisfaction of foreign-funded enterprises amounted to 80.55 points, an increase of 1.44 points from 2022.
Shen Changyu said, the next step, the State Intellectual Property Office will continue to improve the level of intellectual property protection work, further improve the intellectual property protection system, laws and regulations and platform mechanisms, strengthen the source protection, help create a better business environment and innovation environment. It will continue to deepen international cooperation on intellectual property, actively promote the improvement of international rules and standards on intellectual property, help form a higher level of open economy, and further improve the regularized communication mechanism with foreign-funded enterprises.
