[China Daily] Guangdong Provincial Data Intellectual Property Certificate Registration Platform is officially launched online

Since the pilot work was launched, the platform will be officially launched on July 28, 2023.
In November 2022, with the approval of the State Intellectual Property Office, Guangdong became one of the first eight provinces in the country to carry out local pilot projects for data intellectual property rights. Since the launch of the pilot work, the Guangdong Provincial Market Supervision Bureau (Intellectual Property Office) has carried out theoretical and practical explorations on key issues such as the construction of the basic system of data intellectual property rights, registration practices, rights protection and transaction use, and established the Guangdong Province Data Intellectual Property Certificate Registration platform (http://data.gpic.gd.cn), the platform will be officially launched on July 28, 2023.
After the Guangdong Provincial Data Intellectual Property Certificate Registration Platform is launched, the Guangdong Provincial Intellectual Property Protection Center will provide certificate registration services, provide data intellectual property certificate registration, publicity, certificate issuance and other services to innovative entities in the province, and encourage innovative entities to comply with the law. Data collections with commercial value that are obtained in accordance with regulations, processed through certain rules, and have commercial value are registered for data intellectual property rights.
Data intellectual property registration certificates can be used in scenarios such as data trading and circulation, cooperation and sharing, and rights protection, providing strong support for the sustainable development of Guangdong's data market, further releasing the potential of data elements, and assisting the high-quality development of Guangdong's digital economy.
