After passing the pre-examination and formally submitting the patent application to the State Intellectual Property Office, will I receive an examination opinion notice? Is there a required response deadline?

Answer: Patent applications formally submitted to the State Intellectual Property Office, like ordinary applications, must go through preliminary examination and substantive examination (invention) and other examination procedures. You may also receive an examination opinion notice at each examination stage.
For patent applications that have passed the pre-examination by the Shenzhen Protection Center and entered the accelerated examination process, the notice reply deadline requirements are:
For invention patent applications, the applicant should promise to submit a reply within 10 working days in response to the first examination opinion notice issued by the Patent Office;In response to the second examination action notice issued by the Patent Office, the applicant should promise to submit a reply within 5 working days.
For utility model patent applications, the applicant should promise to submit a reply within 5 working days to the notice of examination opinion issued by the Patent Office.
Note: The above response deadlines do not include the 15-day estimated delivery date. Applicants are required to strictly abide by the response deadlines, otherwise the expedited patent application will automatically be converted into an ordinary application.
