Guangdong Province’s first overseas intellectual property protection (Germany) service workstation was unveiled and put into operation

On November 8, the German branch event of the 2022 Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Global Investment Conference and the unveiling ceremony of the Guangdong Overseas Intellectual Property Protection (Germany) Service Workstation were successfully held in Frankfurt. The Guangdong Overseas Intellectual Property Protection (Germany) Service Workstation has since been officially launched. The German station is one of the first batch of overseas intellectual property protection service stations established overseas by the Guangdong Provincial Intellectual Property Protection Center and the Guangdong Council for the Promotion of International Trade, relying on the Guangdong Provincial Economic and Trade Representative Office in Germany. In the next step, the Guangdong Provincial Intellectual Property Protection Center and the Guangdong Provincial Council for the Promotion of International Trade will continue to promote the construction of the first batch of service stations in Russia and the United States, and actively and steadily add them in other key trading countries or regions, working together to create overseas intellectual property rights that serve enterprises in our province. Protect "outposts", promote the formation of an overseas dispute response service network, and provide more direct and practical service measures for the overseas development of our province's enterprises.

【Work background】

In order to implement the "Guiding Opinions of the State Intellectual Property Office and China Council for the Promotion of International Trade on Further Strengthening the Construction of Overseas Intellectual Property Dispute Response Mechanisms", we will thoroughly implement our province's "Several Measures on Strengthening Intellectual Property Protection" and "Guangdong Province Intellectual Property Protection and Utilization "The 14th Five-Year Plan" and "Guangdong Province's Work Plan for Strengthening Overseas Intellectual Property Protection" to strengthen guidance on responding to overseas intellectual property disputes. On July 7, 2022, with the support of the Guangdong Provincial Administration for Market Regulation (Intellectual Property Office) , the Guangdong Provincial Intellectual Property Protection Center and the Guangdong Council for the Promotion of International Trade signed the "Memorandum of Cooperation on Jointly Building Overseas Intellectual Property Protection Service Workstations" to cooperate in establishing a group of countries or regions with large demand for foreign trade and investment in our province or frequent intellectual property disputes. 【Job Responsibilities】

According to relevant work plans and arrangements, the Guangdong Overseas Intellectual Property Protection Service Workstation is mainly responsible for the following work responsibilities:

1. Provide intellectual property-related consulting services;

2. Provide intellectual property consultation and related services to Guangdong enterprises participating in exhibitions in the host country (or region);

3. Carry out overseas intellectual property protection training activities;

4. Promote Guangdong’s achievements in intellectual property protection and development;

5. Establish channels for intellectual property exchange and cooperation.
