The World Intellectual Property Organization is a specialized agency established by the United Nations in accordance with the Convention Establishing the World Intellectual Property Organization. Its main function is to promote the protection of intellectual property rights around the world through cooperation between countries or collaboration with other international organizations, and to ensure that all intellectual property rights Administrative cooperation between alliances, etc. Intergovernmental organizations, non-governmental organizations, industry groups, etc. can apply to the WIPO Secretariat to become observers.

As a representative of the industry, the China Patent Protection Association has always actively participated in international intellectual property exchanges and cooperation. Through the cooperation between the five IP5 offices in China, the United States, Europe, Japan and South Korea and bilateral platforms with foreign governments and industry organizations, it has improved Chinese enterprises’ understanding of international intellectual property rights. Understand the role of intellectual property in competition, improve the ability and level of intellectual property creation, application, and protection of Chinese enterprises, and help Chinese enterprises "go global."

After becoming an observer of the World Intellectual Property Organization, the Association can support and represent member companies to participate in formal meetings of WIPO member states and participate in consultations and discussions on relevant issues, participate more deeply in the formulation of World Intellectual Property Organization rules and the formation of resolutions, and participate in the international intellectual property The establishment and improvement of normative frameworks actively conveys the voice of China.

Currently, WIPO's observers include intergovernmental organizations and non-governmental organizations, including 194 international non-governmental organizations and 94 national non-governmental organizations. Previously, my country only had two observer seats at WIPO. China Patent Protection Association becoming an observer to WIPO can form a strong complement to my country's current observer team at WIPO, cooperate with the Chinese government and enterprises, jointly promote the establishment of international intellectual property rules that are future-oriented, adapt to the times, open, inclusive, balanced and beneficial, and enhance my country's Enterprises' ability to respond to global challenges and solidly promote the construction of an intellectual property power.
